The old Taylor Road Bridge in Brinston, Ontario, had been closed for some time and the Municipality of South Dundas wanted it replaced as soon as possible. Suffice to say, this project was an excellent example of efficiency in meeting a quick project timeline.
To begin with, the Municipality purchased the Algonquin Modular Bridge System directly (and early) through public tender. While Algonquin expedited the design, fabrication and delivery of the bridge system, the Municipality tendered the installation and roadwork.
An experienced bridge contractor, DW Building Restoration Services, was awarded the installation and roadwork, but they had not previously assembled and installed one of our Modular Bridge Systems. Algonquin’s on-site assistance helped ensure they could work as efficiently as possible on the project. Kudos to the DW team — they were real pros to work with and totally “aced” it.

We offered instant feedback throughout the assembly and cantilever launch installation. This included: training on best practices, efficiency in moving and adjusting components, optimum positioning of rollers, bridge alignment details and general support as needed.
The new bridge was successfully installed and in operation before the scheduled date with no issues or concerns from DW or the owner. We hope to build our relationship with them on future projects.
