The Brown Flats Bridge in the Sipekne’katik First Nation features epoxy-coated-aggregate deck panels and a durable galvanized finish. And, best of all, it’s made right here in Canada to be resilient, sustainable and dependable for many decades of service.
Prior to the installation of the bridge, the set of large culverts it replaced were insufficient to pass the spring meltwater every year, and overtopping of the road occurred, as well as flooding in the nearby area. This cut off a residential section of the community from access as there were no alternative routes.
Ready to ship for emergency or detour bridge requirements
Algonquin Bridge maintains an inventory of these popular systems ready to be shipped anywhere in Canada for permanent or temporary applications, like detour bridges or emergency bridge washout replacements. All components are hot dip-galvanized for maximum durability. They are easy to assemble with local crews and are completely reusable. Assembled bridges can be cantilever launched from one side or they can be crane lifted into place.
