Well, Algonquin Bridge finally got its 15 minutes of fame! One of our popular Modular Bridge Systems finally got its due in the HBO original series The Last of Us, filmed in Calgary*.
The 12.2 m single-lane, steel-deck span served as a moat crossing for the show’s quarantine centre and was suitably dressed down for this dystopian setting with a naturally weathering finish and festooned with signage and security cameras.
No stranger to settings like this, Algonquin’s Modular Bridge Systems are modern iterations of the original “Bailey Bridge” systems that played a key part in Second World War troop movements and reconstruction efforts.
Available for sale or rent, Algonquin Modular Bridge Systems are often deployed in short order as permanent or temporary emergency washout replacements or detours. Plus, they are very long-lasting and durable — even withstanding the wear and tear of an end-of-the-world dystopian apocalypse!
* While the Modular Bridge System was used in The Last of Us, this is not an endorsement of Algonquin by HBO.
