The AIL Group maintains Canada’s Best Managed Companies Gold Standard by re-qualifying for the fifth consecutive year.

The AIL Group of Companies, to which Algonquin Bridge belongs, is proud to be a Canada’s Best Managed Companies Gold Standard winner in 2023, and has been a winner in the program since 2019. Thanks to all of our people for making this possible!

Mike Wilson, CEO of the AIL Group, comments “I am very proud of our teams for their hard work in helping us re-qualify for this award that sets the standard for excellence in Canada’s business ecosystem.”

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program awards excellence in private, Canadian-owned companies with revenues of $50 million or greater. To attain the designation, companies are evaluated on their leadership in the areas of strategy, culture and commitment, capabilities and innovation, governance and financial performance.

“The Best Managed award recognizes our continuing commitment to best practices at every level as we achieve our strategic goals,” says Jason Sherwood, President & CEO, Atlantic Industries Limited. “I am very pleased we were able to earn this designation for a fifth consecutive year, thanks to the continued efforts of our employees throughout The AIL Group.”

Canada’s Best Managed Companies program continues to be the mark of excellence for privately owned Canadian companies. Every year since the launch of the program in 1993, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies have competed for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates their management skills and practices.

“This past year, we continued to have a very successful year as we make progress on our business growth and sustainability goals,” adds Dale Gaston, President of both Algonquin Bridge Limited and AIL Sound Walls. “Every employee in our organizations has played a role in our continued success.”

Applicants are evaluated by an independent panel of judges with representation from program sponsors and special guests. The 2023 cohort of Best Managed Companies share common themes such as having a people-centric culture; targeting effective Environmental, Social and Governance strategies and accelerating operational digitization.

“This year’s Best Managed winners displayed courage, resourcefulness and creativity as they explored new avenues for advancement,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “We’re extremely proud to recognize their impressive achievements in such a rapidly changing business world. Their successes demonstrate the importance of strong leadership and forethought in driving long-term growth.”
