Remote MTO vehicular bridge replaced with Algonquin Modular Panel Bridge in under four days

• Two Algonquin Modular Bolted Truss Bridges fast-swapped to keep MTO highway connected

  Highway 652, one of Ontario's most isolated secondary highways, runs east from Cochrane, and eventually northward, as the only connection to the remote Detour Gold Mine in northeastern Ontario. Two bridges along this route were in dire need of replacement and the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) opted for heavy-duty Algonquin Modular Bolted Truss Bridges.

• Two Modular Panel Bridges part of Ontario stream-crossing solution

  When a failing bridge needed to be replaced on Veley Road in Hilliardton Township, two Algonquin Modular Panel Bridge Systems played a part in the solution. A rental pedestrian bridge served as a temporary crossing while a larger vehicular bridge was installed as the permanent solution.

• Multi-span Modular Bridge/Piers Package provides year-round road access to Northern Ontario First Nation

  A new Algonquin Modular Panel Bridge has provided vital year-round road access to a Northern Ontario First Nation community that previously relied on either air transport or a 42 km ice road for its basic needs. With a changing environment, the ice roads have been open for as few as 28 days in recent years-- a significant reduction from 77 days only a decade ago.

• Algonquin Modular Panel Bridge proves to be great replacement for Ontario First Nation’s old Bailey Bridge

  Dokis First Nation lies about an hour Southeast of Sudbury near Lake Nipissing. The community's only road connection was built in 1955 and included a single lane Bailey Bridge over the Restoule River. Over 60 years later, the time had come to replace it and a tender call was issued by the Band Council.

• Manitoba First Nation celebrates new vehicular girder bridge — a new lifeline for their community

  The people of western Manitoba's Tootinaowaziibeeng Treaty Reserve had been waiting 30 years to have a safe bridge replacement to connect their community to the rest of the world.
